i thought goal was a fantastic movie? i was immersed throughout the entire show (minus the pleasant guest appearance by beckham) haha i thought it was really good.

it portrayed santiago's courage and perserverance in acheiving his dream. or rather, i thought the director must be someone who dares to dream b'cos the whole show was about dream. how people live for their dream and not how people live in their dream. santiago was fillial and family-oriented but yet he went against his father just to play soccer. his desire to play in the league and passion for football were so overwhelming that it touched glen foy, newcastle's ex-scouting agent. i mean, looking at today's football world, it isn't exactly so pure. and santiago continued making the people around him to know what's true passion and dreams were; gavin, christina, his dad, the coach, fellow team players and the manager. gavin's role came as a surprise to me cos' all the while i thought he would be a bad character. what mattered was he dared to dream and he gave his best to realise it. this is what we should learn, sometimes. of cos' its a show afterall. not common to see people bumping into scouting agents everyday and having a second chance despite screwing up the first. but yeah, i came home wid a thought; we should do our best in whatever we do no matter how small or insignificant the point is. hard to prac but its a virtue. and it made me feel for awhile that whatever sad stuff we encounter isn't exactly as disastrous as meeting a hurdle in making our dreams come true, even emo stuff. (i thought he surpressed the sadness he had about his family well. excluding those breakdown part. we should learn how to draw a line sometimes.) i hope this isn't going outta point ha ha ha.
